Abstract: Recently Chen X. X. and Cheng J. R. have made a breakthrough in the study of Calabi's extremal metric. They proved substantial new estimates for scalar curvature type equation on compact Kahler manifolds. In this talk, we go over the development of the complex Monge-Ampere equation and Chen-Cheng's breakthrough on scalar curvature type equations, and extend Chen-Cheng's result to Sasaki case.
